In this role, she led a team that dramatically grew community support for children who are in fostercare due to abuse or neglect, increasing the organization’s foster and adoptive families by 78%, from 500 to 892 homes. It is called the FosterCare Adoption Resource Services, Training and Consultation (FCARSTC) program.
My field placement is with Wellmore Behavioral Health in Waterbury, where I am an Intensive In-home Child and Adolescent PsychiatricServices clinician. My passion is to advocate for underserved and monolingual Latinx populations, undocumented individuals, and children involved in the mental health or fostercare system.
By understanding the social determinants of health, policymakers and healthcare professionals can assess what’s needed most in a community and then take the proper measures to work toward a healthy population.
