The process to decolonize social work has produced significant outcomes, including, but not limited to a crop of African social workers who are clear about what decolonization is and why it is necessary. This has increased understanding and appreciation of indigenization, as already being reflected in research, teaching and practice of social work in Africa.

On Thursday, October 21, KVC Health Systems will host its 2021 Annual Celebration. KVC hosts this event every October to thank the generous supporters who have enabled the nonprofit organization to strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and help people achieve mental health wellness. KVC serves over 60,000 people each year in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky and West Virginia, with a total positive impact of changing over 350,000 people’s lives in its 51-year history.

This week it has come to my attention that I have really come a long way in my healing since 2019. In 2019 I was about 5 years into healing full time and working to better my life.
