Chasing Parents Who Don’t Show Up?

Don’t chase the parent who isn’t seeing their kids to see the kids. It’s their responsibility, not yours. If you assume their responsibility and fail, as often happens, then it looks as if you are to blame. Also, do not give the kids false impressions of the other parent. Do not say, “Oh, but they love you.” That’s gaslighting.

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about the impact that my experience with anxiety has on me. It impacts the way I see the world, the way I interact with it, and the way I interact with others. But after years of learning about myself and my anxiety, I’ve started to notice the patterns that my anxiety creates. One pattern in particular is how my anxiety can lead to making assumptions, and how those assumptions can create problems in my life that didn’t exist before.

DoLS referral numbers hit new record but practitioners cut backlog and average case timeframes

The number of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) referrals hit a new high in 2023-24 but practitioners managed to cut backlogs, official figures have shown. Care homes and hospitals made 332,455 applications to deprive a person of liberty for their own protection last year, up 11% on the figure for 2022-23, according to NHS England’s annual DoLS data.
