Figuring Out Child Behavior: More Than Meets the Eye.

Gary Direnfeld

The child was almost five. Acting out was an issue. There is much to examine to figure things out. I wonder about a “nonverbal learning disability.” While I am no psychologist, kids have their “tells” that can suggest a disorder. If a “tell” is recognized, observed, then it is wise to have the child further assessed.

Manifest Anything You Want! — Bad Self-Help Advice

Nnatasha Tracy

I hate bad self-help advice. I hate overly-simplified pop psychology. I (by and large) hate self-help gurus. The idea that you can manifest anything you want or attract anything you want into your life is b t. Life is more complicated, more difficult, and not to mention far less fair, than that. And while you might think some of this is obvious, often this bad self-help advice is wrapped up in such a pretty bow that you can't see just how bad it is.

Blind as an ADHD Bat

A Splintered Mind

Ever been so ADHD that you can’t see what you’re looking for, even when it’s right in front of your face? Given that ADHD has as many flavors as a bag of jelly beans, you might not all relate with ADHD tunnel vision. I, unfortunately, can’t say the same. If I had a jelly bean for every time something I was looking for was found right there in front of me, I could go into business and give Jelly Belly a run for their money.

Looking Inward Instead of Outward

My Brains Not Broken

For the past month, I’ve been getting more into meditation as a daily practice. I’m trying to use meditation as something I look forward to during my day-to-day, instead of adding another item to my to-do list that I need to check off. This lets me put less pressure on myself (which is nice), but it also lets me go into those meditations with a bit of a freer mind.
