IASSW will be very busy at the upcoming United Nations Commission for Social Development to be held February 5-14 at UN Headquarters in New York. We are co-sponsoring two virtual side events. These are accessible to members via the registration link on the session flyers. We also wrote a statement on the Commission theme and endorsed the Civil Society Declaration that will be presented at the opening session.

Associate Research Professor Hsiu-Ju Lin, Ph.D., has joined an interdisciplinary team awarded a $1.5M RO1 grant from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIH/NIAAA) to investigate the relationship between social isolation, loneliness, stress, and coping mechanisms with alcohol use across the United States.
