The Scottish Government has ditched plans to restructure adult social care in the country into a ‘national care service’ (NCS). Social care minister Maree Todd said that she was scrapping the flagship Scottish National Party (SNP) policy because of a lack of support within the Scottish Parliament, in a ministerial statement issued this week.
