Much of her paper is concerned with evaluating the idea that mental disorders are or are not 'in' the individuals diagnosed with them. Suffice it for now to say that she's a 28 year old only child who has mainly stayed in a psychiatric hospital during the last 10 years, and who was evacuated to live away from her parents during WWII.
