Why Is It So Hard To Ask For Help When Facing Psychological Distress?

The only two occasions I went to the hospital for my mental health challenges were 1) generalized anxiety with panic disorder and 2) severe depression with psychotic events and suicide attempt. I was in full panic mode, seven months into a major depression, anxiety disorder and fighting for survival. I’m a living example of that.
